Hello, this is GS Consulting, your one & only consulting company.
We’d like to provide you with an update from the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) regarding changes to the work restrictions for international students in Canada.
Here are the key points from the announcement:
๐ The temporary policy allowing students to work more than 20 hours per week during the academic term will end as scheduled on April 30, 2024, and will not be extended any further.
While many were anticipating an extension, unfortunately, starting tomorrow, the weekly work limit during the academic term will revert to 20 hours, so please take note of this change.
๐ However, there’s also one good news! Starting from the upcoming fall semester, the previous 20-hour work limit will be increased to 24 hours per week. ๐๐
The IRCC has emphasized that these changes are aimed at allowing students to work, if necessary, without compromising their academic performance. Additionally, it’s important to note that during scheduled academic breaks, students can still work full-time. ๐
For a successful study and immigration journey, it’s crucial to have experts who can adapt quickly to changing immigration and education related policies.
