We’d like to share an update regarding the revisions of BC PNP updates by the BC provincial government on March 19TH.
A detailed summary of the updates will be available in late 2024, and the criteria will be published in the BC PNP Skills Immigration Program Guide in January 2025.
Key revision is “Graduate Streams”. The current International Graduate and International Post-Graduate Streams will be replaced with 3 new streams,
- Bachelor’s stream: Immigration stream for bachelor’s degree graduates (requires a full-time job offer).
- Master’s stream: Immigration stream for master’s degree graduates (requires a minimum one-year full-time job offer in a skilled occupation – TEER 0,1,2,3).
- Doctorate stream: Immigration stream for doctoral degree graduates or candidates (PhD candidates) (application possible without a job offer).
Furthermore, language proficiency requirements will be strengthened program-wide, except for the Health Authority stream. And with a minimum English proficiency level of CLB 8 or higher being considered for these new three streams.
Through these updates, the BC provincial government aims to protect prospective candidates from various frauds and misconducts by clearly informing them of the criteria for the BC PNP in advance. Additionally, these updates are aimed at providing a pathway to permanent residency for international workers and entrepreneurs who bring the greatest benefit to B.C.’s economy.
