We would like to share some valuable tips related to BC PNP, the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program.
With the recent changes to BC PNP last year, additional points are awarded to candidates working or studying outside of the Metro Vancouver Regional District.
If you have experience working or studying outside of the Metro Vancouver Regional District (MVRD), you may be eligible for additional points!

Area 1: Metro Vancouver Regional District
✅additional points : 0
Area 2: Squamish, Abbotsford, Agassiz, Mission, and Chilliwack
✅additional points : 5
Area 3: Areas of B.C. not included in Area 1 or 2
✅additional points : 15
To qualify for additional points, you must have completed at least one year full-time paid employment within the last 5 years or must have graduated from a public B.C. post-secondary institution within the last 3 years while living outside of MVRD.
Vancouver Island, known for its beautiful nature, is also included in area 3, allowing you to earn a maximum of 15 points.
If you are considering a career as an E.C.E. or in healthcare while living outside Vancouver, these occupations currently maintain their cut-off scores at 60 points, making it relatively easy to obtain permanent residency.
