There is a temporary policy until February 28, 2025, which allows Foreign nationals who are in Canada as visitors and who receive a valid job offer will continue to be able to apply for and receive a work permit without having to leave the country.
In order to be eligible for this temporary policy, it is necessary for the applicant to meet several requirements. Firstly, they must hold a valid status as a visitor in Canada on the day of their application. Additionally, they must possess a job offer that has been supported by a labour market impact assessment (LMIA) or an LMIA-exempt offer of employment.
The applicant must also submit their application for an employer-specific work permit before the deadline of February 28, 2025. Lastly, it is important for them to fulfill all other standard admissibility criteria.
